Terms of Service

FicLog is a fanfiction tracking, organization, and reading service. The Service includes:

• Library management: Track, organize, rate, and tag fanfiction you've read or want to read across various platforms (AO3, Wattpad, FFN, and others).
• In-app reader: Read fanfiction directly within the app, with reading progress tracking.
• Browser extension: Save fics to your library directly from fanfiction websites.
• Import & export: Import your reading list from other services or export your FicLog data (Premium feature).
• Sharing: Share curated lists or individual fics with others via share links.
• Smart collections: Automatically organized groups based on your library.

To use FicLog, you must create an account. By creating an account, you agree that:

• You are at least 13 years old. If you are under 16 and in the EU, you confirm you have parental consent to use the Service.
• You will provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
• You will notify us immediately at support@ficlog.app of any unauthorized use of your account.

You may sign up using email and password or through social login providers (Google, Facebook, Apple). When using social login, you authorize the provider to share your basic profile information with us as described in our Privacy Policy.

FicLog offers both a free tier and a paid Premium tier:

Free tier includes:

• Up to 100 fics in your library
• Up to 5 custom tags
• In-app reader
• Dark mode
• Sharing via share links
• Filtering by fandom, genre, author, and completion status
• Basic reading statistics

Premium tier additionally includes:

• Unlimited fics and custom tags
• CSV import and export
• Filtering by custom tags
• Taxonomy suggestions (auto-suggest fandom and genre)
• Full reading statistics and charts

We reserve the right to modify the features included in each tier. We will provide reasonable notice before making changes that significantly reduce the features available to existing users.

Premium subscriptions are billed through LemonSqueezy, our payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Pricing: Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. Current prices are displayed on our pricing page and at checkout.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through the LemonSqueezy customer portal. After cancellation, you retain Premium access until the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@ficlog.app within 14 days of a charge to request a refund. EU consumers retain their statutory right of withdrawal.
• Price changes: We will notify you at least 30 days before any price increase. The new price takes effect at your next renewal after the notice period.

FicLog offers a referral program with the following terms:

• Referrer rewards: When someone you refer subscribes to Premium, you receive 30 days of free Premium access, up to a maximum of 180 days (6 successful referrals).
• Referred user benefit: New users who sign up through a referral link receive 25% off their first year of Premium.
• Eligibility: Referral rewards are available to all users with a FicLog account.
• Abuse prevention: We reserve the right to revoke referral rewards and suspend accounts if we detect abuse of the referral program, including but not limited to: creating multiple accounts, using fake referrals, or any other manipulative behavior.

We may modify or discontinue the referral program at any time with 30 days' notice. Rewards already earned will be honored.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its systems, or other users' accounts
• Interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated methods (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
• Share content that violates others' intellectual property rights
• Harass, abuse, threaten, or harm other users
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use the Service to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content

You retain ownership of all content you add to FicLog, including notes, tags, ratings, and custom collections. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display this content as necessary to provide the Service to you.

When you share content publicly through share links, you grant us permission to display that content to anyone who accesses the share link. You can revoke this at any time by deleting the share link.

FicLog stores links and metadata about fanfiction hosted on third-party sites (such as AO3, Wattpad, and FFN). We do not host, control, or claim ownership of the original fanfiction content. The original authors and hosting platforms retain all rights to their content.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, or policies of third-party sites. The in-app reader displays content from these external sources as a convenience; this does not imply endorsement or responsibility for the content displayed.

The FicLog browser extension is an optional tool that allows you to save fics to your library directly from fanfiction websites. The extension:

• Requires permissions to read page content on supported fanfiction sites
• Only activates when you explicitly click to save a fic
• Sends extracted metadata (title, author, word count, etc.) to FicLog servers only
• Does not track your browsing activity or operate in the background

Use of the browser extension is governed by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including EU consumer protection law.

By you: You may delete your account at any time through the app or by contacting support@ficlog.app. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or if required by law. We will provide notice and an opportunity to export your data when reasonably possible, unless immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as Limitation of Liability, Intellectual Property, and Governing Law) will continue to apply.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the consumer protection laws in your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable EU law, including the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you have a dispute with us, we encourage you to first contact us at support@ficlog.app so we can try to resolve it informally. We commit to responding to disputes within 14 business days.

If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, it shall be submitted to the competent courts in Romania. EU consumers may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
